Rabo Karabekian, in his 80s, has a big secret locked in the potato barn of his Long Island estate. Rabo seems to emphasise the process of painting – the laying on of paint. The flow of the book is fantastic.
The absurdity of war is a note that Vonnegut loves kkrt play.
It seems like every book by Vonnegut is better bluebeaard the previous one I read. It’s a darned big thing. No data is shared with Paypal unless you engage with this feature. Rabo Karabekian is an awesome narrator in general, because he does not bullshit. Some articles have Vimeo videos embedded in them.
Oh, my hero, Kurt. But like all of Vonnegut’s books, it’s one I hope to revisit many times in the future. It’s the charming tale of a post-modern artist, lonely and in the twilight of his life, and it’s chock-full of quotable lines, but it seemed a little slower and less exciting than his other books–for me.
As he said, maybe it’s time to give women a chance.

The complexity of this relationship, and the obvious tensions and harmonies between the two characters, serves to reinforce an interpretation of the novel as the process of writing about the difficulties in recording the modern era. I like that sort of stuff, but I find it hard to consider it sublime, exactly.
It has a more subtle humour that lends itself to better storytelling. The novel involves many other characters who would be poorly introduced by myself in comparison to their richness as presented by Vonnegut. But sadly I was disappointed. We used to boast of how small our Army and Navy were, and how little influence generals and admirals had in Washington.
For Vonnegut the most significant events in his life seem to have been his experiences as a captured American soldier during the Second World War, which formed the core of ‘Slaughterhouse 5,’ and some moment, presumably during the s, when he realised that the next generation had learned nothing from the trangedies of the war and had even begun to lose all sense of its own past, that great casualty of American culture.

This book is an excellent example of how levity can be just as vonneguh at delivering a polemic against war as more gritty, realistic depictions like you might find in The Kindly Ones or in Hollywood movies. I really liked this one. Search for ” Bluebeard ” on Amazon. For me, the story was slow moving, and plodding until the reader discovers the secret in the barn.
