Saf’s ending again, a lot of Po and Katsa’s storyline, the point of Lady Fire. In the beginning, Bitterblue spends so much time in the castle.
College is hard, man, and the Berkshires are cloudy. It was deep, caring, and typical of the personalities of both Katsa and Po.
And the last portion of the book was even more difficult and poignant. It felt like I had put the book down and started reading someone elses. I am all about editing in stories, and for the first half of this book, the redundancies seemed unnecessary and boring. Though Bitterlue do wish there was more because it kinda ended a little too open for my liking less.

It had some very nice qualities, such as the characters and overlap with the Dells, yet ultimately, it failed to keep my mind engaged beyond a few hundred pages in the middle and was an incredibly hard book to finish. When is book 4 coming? Most of the book I spent repeating Bitterblue’s own thoughts: When she demands the truth it should be given.
A council mission to save an old Lienid grandfather from a prison unearths a mystery and an unexpected Graced Lienid bittefblue whose fighting skills match Katsa’s. She sees the poverty, the disrepair, and the yearning of her people to remember the time they lost under Leck, and rebuild. Nothing for me the reader. I’ve seen many say they had trouble with this book due to boredom.
This story picks up with little Bitterblue, now the queen of her empire. Mit Landkarten, Glossar und Garceling. And there were a lot of random scenes that I just didn’t understand why they were there or why Cashore written certain things to happen. Even from a young age, Bitterblue was always wise beyond her years, able to understand and perceive many things which even adults many times her senior were unable to.

Bitterblue is one of the realest characters I’ve ever come across. As a mystery, Bitterblue did not work for me at all. To ask other readers questions about Bitterblueplease sign up. Just when I thought I was getting a handle on ONE of the mysterious elements, another layer was added, complicating it further.
At points it was emotionally draining. Because Bitterblue goes where Fire has already gone before, and not only does this book not learn from Fire ‘s few flaws, it repeats them and makes more than a few more along the way too.

I love the supporting characters. This book had potentials especially with the mystery but then things got confusing. In one way, it’s a character journey— Bitterblue’s journey of agency and growing up. I was seriously this close to exploding But it was okay. There were too many subplots, too many symbols and little details that Cashore was trying to get the reader to notice that it simply became cumbersome to read and understand. I wanted to love Saf but he was completely obnoxious for the first three quarters of the book.
Thus, she decides to dress as a commoner and go forth on midnight excursions in an effort to find out just what exactly is happening. It is at night that she meets Teddy and Saf, two thieves who, instead of giving her answers, only add to the puzzling mysterious surround her life.
Two thieves, who have sworn only to steal what has already been stolen, change her life forever. So let’s sum it all up:
